QOOQ Touch Kitchen Tablet Review

This tablet is not the lightest or the thinnest. It is not even built to please the mass market. The QOOQ Touch Kitchen Tablet is made specifically for the kitchen, they call it a cooking coach. The screen is resistant to splashes and heat. The kickstand is built into the back of the tablet. There are built in cooking apps as well as videos. You can also use it to automatically scale up and down any recipe so you can cook for an exact number of guests.

PROs & CONs

The price for this tablet is pretty high at around $400.

The QOOQ Touch Kitchen Tablet allows you to be at peace when you are cooking not worrying about damaging your ipad or smartphone when you use it instead of cooking apps you can download. It works both in landscape or portrait mode.

However in landscape mode, the screen does not auto rotate.

On the side of the tablet is a headphone jack, USB, Ethernet and card reader port. You can cover these with the cover if you are not using them.

You will need to create an account to use the software, you get 100 credits. From the home page you can access the recipes tab which allows you to scan different types of recipes both new and old.

The search feature allows you to search by ingredients. Each recipe will cost about 2 credits after which you will have to purchase more and this is something that most customers dislike.

They have different levels of recipes available depending on your cooking experience. The software can be a little leggy and the screen is not retina display like the ipad. This is probably a novelty item, as practically and cost wise this tablet is not something that anyone would really need in the kitchen.

"I'm a refrigerator chef—I cook whatever I have on hand. That's why I think the Qooq touch tablet is fantastic: It's loaded with 1,000 recipes searchable by ingredient, with videos that show exactly how that cream sauce is supposed to look."—Oprah
