Samsung Galaxy Gear Review

The Samsung Galaxy Gear is not a standalone phone. It is actually an accessory for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Smartphone. When the two are paired together via bluetooth, the gear will behave like an actual phone. The built in speaker allows you to make and receive calls from your wrist. You can also send and receive emails, text messages as well as track your exercise or workouts.

PROS

- It has a 1.63 Super Amoled touchscreen display
- Single core 800 MHZ processor
- 1.9 Megapixel camera
- Can capture 10 seconds of 720 HDP video clips.
- 4 GB of built in storage.
- When phone rings, just raise hand to ear and you are ready to converse.
- 70 apps available for the gear only.

CONS

- Only stores max of 10 apps at a time.
- Only compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10.1
- Does not work unless paired with the Galaxy Note 3.
- Now quality camera.

It is available in a wide variety of colorful wrist bands. There will be software upgrades available in the near future to allow you to pair this watch with other Samsung smartphones. For the current limitations on this device, I would only recommend you purchase it for someone who already owns the Note 3 or wants one.

"At last, a polite way to check calls, texts, and e-mails when you're in a meeting. This Samsung Galaxy Gear will discreetly notify you of incoming messages as long as it's within a five-foot radius of your Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. And everyone will think you're just looking at the time."—Oprah
